Insurance & Your Hearing Benefits
Let's help you understand what your plan actually covers.
Insurance and hearing care can be confusing — partly because there are really two different kinds of coverage, and they work very differently.
Medical / diagnostic coverage. Your regular medical insurance often covers the hearing evaluation itself — the appointment where we test your hearing and talk through results.
Hearing aid benefits. The hearing aids are a separate matter. Some plans include a limited hearing aid allowance (often through programs like TruHearing, United Healthcare Hearing, or Amplifon). These benefits can help — but they're usually capped, and they often limit which devices you're allowed to choose.
That second point matters. When you pay privately, you're free to get the technology that's genuinely best for your hearing — not just what an allowance permits. That's why a large percentage of our patients choose to pay directly, or cover the difference, for better long-term results.
We'll always be upfront with you about what your plan covers and what your options are.

Many health insurance plans — including Medicare, BCBS, and UHC — pay little or nothing toward modern hearing aids. We'll help you understand exactly what your plan does and doesn't cover, with no pressure either way.
If you'd rather not navigate it alone, that's what we're here for.
